The Rosette Nebula is a giant H II gas cloud located 5,000 light-years from Earth in the constellation Monoceros. The nebula is 150 light-years across is a stellar nursery with the open cluster of stars NGC 2244. This star cluster emits powerful radiation that sculps the surrounding glowing gas into a flower-like cosmic rose.

This photo was taken in February 2026 in Loveland Colorado with the Sky Watcher Esprit 120mm telescope and ZWO ASI6200 CCD Camera. Total exposure time was over six hours with narrow band Hydrogen, Oxygen, and Sulfur filters.
