Omega and Eagle Nebula

 

 

 

 

 This widefield image of the Omega Nebula M17 the Eagle Nebula M16 captures the complex network of interstellar gas and dust in our milky way galaxy.  The omega nebula is on the left in this photo and is a massive star forming region in the constellation Sagittarius.

 

About the Image:

This photo was taken using a wide field William Optics Red Cat 71 telescope and ZWO ASI6200 CCD camera.  The image was taken near Park Wyoming in June 2026 and the total exposure time was 5 hours using Hydrogen, Oxygen, and Sulfur filters.
