The Horsehead Nebula is a famous dark absorption nebula located 1,300 light-years from Earth in the constellation Orion. Silhouetted against the glowing hydrogen emission cloud IC 434, the dark nebula resembles a giant horse's head.

This photo was taken at 6,500 feet near Pinewood Reservoir with an Sky Watcher Esprit 120mm refractor and ZWO ASI6200 CCD camera. Total exposure time was three hours with red, green, blue Antlia imaging filters.
