Eagle Nebula

 

 

 

 Eagle Nebula M16 is an emission nebula 7,000 light-years away in the constellation Serpens.  The eagle nebula contains the iconic "pillars of creation" region.

 

About the Image

This photo was taken in July 2025 on Deadman Mountain using a SW Esprit 120mm telescope and ZWO ASI6200 CCD camera.  Total exposure time was 4 hours using Hydrogen, Oxygen, and Sulfur filters.
