
The Cone Nebula is an HII region of gas in the constellation Monoceros. It was discovered in 1785 and is 2,700 light-years from Earth. The cone nebula is part of the nebulosity surrounding the Christmas Tree Cluster NGC 2264.

This photo was taken in Loveland Colorado during the month of February 2026. The telescope used was a Sky Watcher Esprit 120mm and ZWO ASI6200 CCD camera. Total exposure time was 7 hours using narrowband Hydrogen, Oxygen, and Sulfur filters.
