Antares & Rho Ophiuchi
This region around the supergiant star Antares in the constellation Cygnus is one of the most colorful areas of the night sky. The yellow star in the center is the supergiant Antares. above the star is the globular cluster M4 and the three stars in the upper left with the blue nebula is the star froming region known as Rho Ophiuchi. Due to its low southern position in the summer sky, this region is difficult to photograph and capture all of the faint colors.

This photo was taken in July 2024 under the pristine skies of Deadman Mountain at 10,000 feet in the Colorado Rockies. The telescope used was a RedCat 71mm and ZWO ASI6200 CCD camera. Total exposure time was 4 hours using red, green, and blue filters.
